3 click rule

The principle that it should take no more than 3 clicks to access any feature, content or each logical step in a process. The application of this principle can be tricky due to the ill-defined nature of what constitutes a primary feature or logical step, but this is still useful in trying to minimize the steps necessary to perform tasks.
