artefact analysis

This is the process of looking at how objects are used or cognitively conceptualised by people, and can include how people use or think about computer interfaces. This can include many factors such as physical and geographic aspects of the object, functional roles, etc.

Artefact analysis is a useful tool for understanding how people think through tasks or the use of an object, when looking to improve its design.
