diary study

A method by which people are asked to keep a diary (written or on audito tape) of their interactions with an interface (computer system, web page, device etc), any significant events or problems during their use of the interface. A diary typically asks a user to record the date and time of an event, the location within the interface the event occurred, information about the event of significance, and ratings about how they feel, etc.
