We strongly believe that it is important to transfer our knowledge in web accessibility to your own web team(s), so that they can become self-sufficient in the production and maintenance of accessible websites. Our technical training course is aimed at this audience and delivers a number of content areas that are crucial to inclusive design.
As with our awareness training, if this course is run in-house we can tailor the course content based on a brief audit of your own site. We can also work our training in to a more complete accessibility audit of your site, so that we can identify all accessibility issues and then train your team on how to resolve them.
What you will learn
During the two days you will learn:
- Awareness in Brief (as above) - how people with impairments use the Web, RBI’s internal objectives for web accessibility.
- Education - Discussed in detail are the Level AA WCAG v1.0 checkpoints and the implications each checkpoint involved in creating compliance.
- Diagnosis - How to go about assessing the current Web Accessibility status of your Website(s) – the methodology of manual and automated inspection.
- Resolution - Recommended best practice for compliance
with the checkpoint is outlined. Usability by Design can assist the
web team to directly manipulate the code or core templates of the site
if required.

This course is designed for those involved with the actual design and development of accessible web design. Developers, Interaction designers and web designers will all benefit from this course. Higher level managers with responsibility for accessible design will also benefit from understanding the processes and mechanisms they should employ.

Cost
Attending a public two-day course costs £649 per person. This prices includes workshop materials, refreshments and a light lunch each day.
